I'm a real bibliophile. I smell old library books and think of all the places they've been and the people who've read them. I really like making books. I also like to make up challenges to see if I can do them. So I decided to make three hundred and sixty five books in 2005. They are not traditional types of books. They are little glimpses of my daily moods, my thoughts, and my experimentation with different materials. Most of the materials for the project I found or reused because expressing yourself does not have to be expensive (take note.) Now in 2006 I get to give one away each day. I will have an opportunity to approach new people and to talk to them and to show my neglected friends what I've been doing this past year. My favourite kind of art is the kind that gets me inspired, lets me remember the wonder in the world, and want to improve what I can. Hopefully receiving a book or learning about this project will get you to ponder what you would like to do - try new things, have adventures, experience slowly and fully, get your hands dirty, and wriggle your toes in long wet grass. Sincerely, Morgan Cahn

This statement I put on a handbill that I gave out with each book.

I asked people for their autographs - and if they consented I would give them a book and handbill.
